Equipment:

  • deviseuse cordless
  • jigsaw
  • A carpenter's square
  • Four invisible steel hinges for furniture (see photo)
  • A steel cabinet to drill 35mm
  • Four feet of your choice
  • Two door knobs of your choice
  • Eight small squares
  • A cleat in the smallest possible fir
  • A pair of magnets (optional, see photo 3)
  • From wood glue
  • From the sandpaper 120
  • Wood screws
  • From the mid-section 22mm for the entire furniture and 10mm for the furniture melts in your DIY store

To start and before going to cut the medium, you will measure the litter box for your cat and add 10 cm deep and 20 cm width of the tray of your furniture (see photo 1). The cabinet height will choose according to your cat's template. For the rest of the box look good plane 1 well and respect the order of assembly of the boards to be able to take good measures. On the 2 pay attention to the shelf above your furniture, it must be deep to cover the edges of doors. For these doors are planning a margin of 1cm on each door as seen on the map 1

Turning to the assembly: With plans 1 and 2 under pre-assemble the rectangle eyes then made the mark on the future of your cat door entry. Draw it always depending on your cat's template and cut with your jig saw this opening. For the comfort of your cat we advise you to break the edges of this opening with sandpaper to round slightly. Take back your four boards and assemble them close. Cut and position the bracket (in red on the plan1) to 10mm of cabinet bottom edge and then paste it. Gather all and secure the assembly using brackets, screws and glue. Let dry as in photo 2 (attention this photo cleats are not glued). Then glue the bottom of furniture midrange 10mm

Using the steel drill bit to drill 35mm cabinet back door to receive your hinges and then secure them and adjust them. Then drill the holes for the pair of door knobs. Attach furniture feet. It remains for you to choose its finish: paint, resin, varnishes. On our example (photo 4) we applied a tint stain walnut with an almost hard to get spalter claws. We finish polyurethane varnish, careful to sand between coats (no need to sand before applying the first layer).

You are now the owner of a unique piece of furniture of a kind, your cat will appreciate the discretion it gives him.
